SHAH ALAM 8 March - Pakatan Rakyat MPs will not be showing up on the second day of the second parliamentary session which begins on Monday as a sign of protest against opposition leader Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim's conviction for sodomy, which they claimed is a conspiracy.
In announcing this, Anwar said while the MPs will attend the opening of the Dewan Rakyat by the Yang di Pertuan Agong on Monday, they will not take part in the traditional line up and photo session that usually takes place later that day with the Speaker and the Agong.
He also said that he would be writing a letter to the Agong to respectfully decline the traditional audience and tea invitation with the King, the prime minister and the Chief Justice.
"Why should I go? To hypocritically smile with tyrants? What for?" said Anwar in his closing speech at the 5th Pakatan Rakyat convention in Setia Alam, Shah Alam, today.
